Hotel, Schwimmbad und kleiner Wellness-Bereich sind sehr gut und sehr angenehm in einem Hotel an dieser guten Lage. Zu bemängeln ist einzig das Badezimmer. Die Falttüre der Dusche liess sich nicht schliessen. Ueberhaupt wirkt das Badezimmer, im Gegensatz zur übrigen Ausstattung des Hotels, etwas schmuddelig und nicht auf der Höhe des übrigen Standards.
Sonst war ich sehr zufrieden und werde das Hotel wieder buchen.

It was difficult to know how to get into the gym. Someone opened it for me. There were 3 bikes in the gym. One didn´t work, the second one you couldn´t move the seat up. The third worked but was a bit basic and the resistance didn´t seem to work. It might be worthwhile checking these.
In general, the hotel was OK, but very expensive. All the hotels I have tried (5 so far) in Milan are very expensive, so I suppose this is in line. What was very good about this hotel is that it has air-conditioning, something that many hotels in Milan don´t have in the Winter! Also, breakfast is included in the room rate.

Front desk staff was outstanding. Everyone in Reception was courteous, helpful,and welcoming. This was particular notable in that these individuals were young people working on a New Year's Eve and New Year's Day--a difficult time to be away from the festivities!

My room was so small I could not even move in it. I find it very expensive for 135€

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel this year and when I return in December on business I will stay there again. In fact every trip to Milan this will be my home there!!! :-D

The hotel should have a notice on its website when certain facilities are not available, such as the sauna and the turkish bath, due to refurbishment. Prospective clients should know before they book of any facilities that are not available during prospective stay. In fact both the sauna and the turkish bath were not available this week.

On appearances the hotel foyer is really modern with a lot of marble - very clean lines however when you get to the rooms (311) it appears they could do with a little more up dating - the bathrooms appear to be from the 1990's with no standalone shower facility and poor quality shower separation/door type attached to the wall/bath.
As we were compromised with the national rail strike in Italy on 9/7/10 we did not get an opportunity to avail completely of the facilities on offer by Galles Hotel Milan.
Maybe next time.

WHEN I CHECK-IN I LERNED THAT I HAD TO PAY A DEPOSIT 100 EUR. I WAS ASKED OF MY CREDIT CARD. ALTHOUGH NO ONE HAD MENTIONED ABOUT IT. I SEE NO REASON WHY I SHOULD LEAVE FOR THE DURATION OF MY STAY DEPOSIT. WHEN I WAS A YEAR AGO IN THE SAME HOTEL THERE WAS NO DEPOSIT. I DID NOT COME FROM ASIA, AFRICA DID NOT COME FROM, I CAME FROM POLAND (EUROPEAN UNION) AND ITALY IS ALSO IN EUROPEAN UNION. THIS WAS MY LAST STAY AT THE HOTEL BEST WETERN GALLES, 4-STAR HOTEL THAT IS COMMITTED TO SOMETHING. I SAW 2-STAR HOTELS IN POLAND A BETTER STANDARD THAN BEST WESTERN GALLES.

We had a fabulous stay at Hotel Galles, however our only complaint with our entire stay was the restaurant. We booked a table for an evening meal, we ordered our food and when it arrived my patner's Fillet Beef strips werent fully cooked, they were pretty raw. She quite clearly ordered her Beef well done but it was barely cooked ! In our view both our meals lacked substance as neither had any potatoes/veg etc. We felt that for the amount of food we received the price was absolutly over the top at 38 Euros, plus the 15 Euros spent on wine ! We decided to give the restaurant another chance 2 nights later, we sat at our table for approximatley 10 mins after being given our menus, we were the only people in there so why it took the lady this long to come back out to us is beyond me ? We decided to go for the Pizza & Beer for 8 Euros only to be told that there was no Pizza !! In Italy for gods sake !! We promptly left and went across the road to a small outdoor restaurant and had a lovely Pizza and beer :) A little tip, get the restaurant sorted, get some more local pasta dishes on the menu, get the prices more reasonable for paying guests and actually keep them in the hotel rather than lose their business elsewhere ! Every other aspect of our stay was excellent, the bar staff and reception staff are excellent, couldnt be more helpfull. A breakfast to take away on our departure was fabulous and appreciated. Only the restaurant let this hotel down. Would definitly stay again, but perhaps not dine unless things change,

Fantastic stay, staff so helpful and friendly, room was lovely, breakfast great (opted not to eat at the restaurant so cant comment on that).
Location:
Buenos Aires is a great st with plenty of good shops/cafes/restaurants
Metro stop right outside the front door means you are 5 mins (3/4/5stops) away from the centre/golden quad (or this is 20+ minute walk). Central station is 5 mins on the metro/15 min walk.
If going for the wknd buy a 48 hour metro/tram card, it only costs €5.50 and you can get them from the easy to use machines in the subways.

The room was a bit small. The bathroom was not very clean, when we came there were some hairs around the floor and in the shower cabin ... and I have never seen smaller shower-cabin:((. The other facilities and services were pretty good.The locations is great.

Our holiday was spoilt by the horrible stench in the room. We only managed to have the room changed to a better one the last night. Even with the change, we forgot some items in the previous room and when we asked for them that night, we got no feedback and when we asked for them the following day, we were told that there was nothing that was found in the room!! We found that strange.

Good hotel to be in when in Central strip of Milan. Newly renovated and modern. However room was cold and bathroom heater seem to only work in the daytime only. But the hot bath made up for it. Reception service was good, staff were helpful and professional, spoke English well. Good internet rates also. Would go back there again maybe not in peak of winter.

Few more interesting points:
The service is good but occasionaly sloppy. Fortunately the people at the reception desk are really good and manage to correct things very efficiently.
Excellent bar. They do have an outdoor terrace on the 1st floor were you can bring your glass and have a smoke if you want. They won't serve you there normally.
Talking about smoking. On the sixth floor they have a quite good restaurant beside which you will find an indoor smoking room. It is not big but eventually you can sit four people and have dinner there.
The web site says sauna and hammam. there's not much of a hammam and unfortunately the only time I could go there it was cold :-(
Room are small but clean and comfortable. Although, I did catch some athlete's foot there.

Our Room was at the front of the hotel, so was quite noisy could also hear the rubble of the under ground rail. Shower was very small could hardly fit into it.
